Live, Unverified, Expired: how we label fares
Fares change fast, sometimes within hours. When we post fares, each one will carry a label and a time, so you know how fresh it is. Here's what each one means.
1. "Last checked"
Every fare will show a Last checked time in Melbourne time. That's when we last confirmed the fare on the airline's or seller's site. Fares can change after that, so always check the price on the airline's own site before you book.
2. The three labels
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Live | We've checked it recently and it was bookable when we checked. |
| Unverified | We haven't rechecked it in the last 24 hours. It may still be there, or it may not. |
| Expired | It's no longer available. |
A fare that hasn't been rechecked within 24 hours moves to Unverified.
3. "Was" prices
We only show a "was" price when it's genuine and recent, and we give its source and the date. If we can't back up a "was" price, we leave it out.
4. Affiliate links
We don't have any affiliate links yet. When we do, we'll label every one and we may earn a commission when you buy through it. It won't change the price you pay. We pick deals on their merits, and affiliate links on the site will be marked with rel="sponsored".
5. Spotted a problem?
If a fare's gone or something looks wrong, let us know at hello@potaytopicks.com and we'll recheck it.
